Fire hose reels are fitted in locations where a large amount of controlled water is required to tackle a fire such as warehouses, schools, and large office blocks. Used by trained personnel and maintained in proper condition, they provide a very effective fire fighting facility.

Fixed and swinging hose reels are available in both manual and automatic versions. Hoses are available in both 19mm and 25mm diameter and are fitted with a controllable nozzle enabling the operator to supply a controlled spray or jet of water on to the fire. Fully extended, the hose has a reach of 30 metres.

Fire hose reels are Kitemarked to BS EN 671. They should all be maintained annually to BS 671-3:2000 and every five years, should be pressurised to maximum working pressure.

Maintenance and Supply of Hose Reels

We can inspect your hose reels at the same time as your extinguisher service. Our inspection is carried out to the BS 5306 standard, Part 1. This includes full inspection of hose, valves, re-wind, nozzles, pressure and flow test, recording on service labels and completion of a certificate of inspection.

Our Hose Reel Service is in accordance with BS 5306 Part 1:2006

The hose reels are fully unwound and subjected to normal operating pressure. The integrity of the drum gland nuts and internal operating valve are checked, together with the condition of the hose and valves/nozzles. After the service, the pressure is released and the hose reel is rewound.

In addition, we can supply and install quality fire hoses in a variety of lengths all approved to EN694 standards, along with both manual and automatic reels (fixed, swinging or recessed), beaded hose guide and their respective wall mounting plates.
